The increasing appearance of new business brands in Ho Chi Minh City shows the dynamism of young businesses and the business methods of these businesses show that we can trust in their success in the future.
In the interior decoration market, Cam Dat is a brand that is starting to gain attention. Starting in 1992, this company started from a small shop of about 140 m2 on Hai Ba Trung Street, District 1. At that time, this company specialized in producing handicraft products for export. A year later, when the demand for hand-embroidered products in many European countries increased, Cam Dat focused on researching these potential products and the result was the birth of the Dolce Casa brand.
Meet European needs and tastes
Ly Nam Khanh, the key figure of Cam Dat Company, is the co-founder of this brand. He himself went to France to learn more about the textile and embroidery industry as well as the elegant styles of Europeans. Here, he met friends who could collaborate to create products under the Dolce Casa brand.
One is the designer, Marc Peter – a Normandi native who lives in an artistic environment with many creative ideas and he has created specialized collections for the restaurant and hotel industry. The other is the artist Cyril Nguyen, a person who especially loves nature and likes to create from natural inspiration and colors. These three people have created the Dolce Casa brand. With the unique traditional French hand embroidery technique and many years of experience, Dolce Casa has become a supplier of blankets, sheets, pillows, tablecloths, and mattresses completely hand-embroidered in many places around the world.
After a long time supplying these products mainly to the international market, Cam Dat has sold products to the Vietnamese market, especially in the last 5 years, when restaurants, hotels, villas and luxury apartments have sprung up. To improve quality, Dolce Casa has chosen the Nitas Tessile brand, a high-end decorative fabric to create high-end products, outstanding in patterns, colors and designs. Nitas Tessile is also the product that Cam Dat is currently exclusively distributing in Vietnam to meet the increasing high-end needs with orders for suitable designs and models.
In 2005, Cam Dat decided to open a center specializing in introducing and supplying interior products on Truong Dinh Street, Ho Chi Minh City. This center helps customers choose the best solutions for themselves. At the same time, Cam Dat also introduced a new brand called Esabel for exported household wooden furniture with tables, chairs, cabinets, beds, salons, writing desks produced according to customers' orders. Esabel's main export markets are Korea, Japan, Greece and France.
Affirming Vietnamese brand
Another company in Ho Chi Minh City, Dat Quang Company (Datkeys), is also making remarkable strides in the market of manufacturing and supplying bathroom and kitchen equipment products. Mr. Nguyen Thuong Dat, Director of Dat Quang Company, said: “Initially, we were a member of a company specializing in distributing foreign products in this field such as Toto, Ariston… to the Vietnamese market. After a long time selling to foreign companies, we thought: why not create Vietnamese products in this field.
In 2002, Dat Quang was born with the business strategy of distributing products under its own brand (OEM-Original Equipment Manufacture method). The company designed products and selected suppliers of components for instantaneous water heaters, sinks, showers, bathtubs, sensor devices such as sensor lavatory faucets, sensor hand dryers, hair dryers, sensor urinals, then ordered foreign manufacturers with factories in Vietnam to produce according to high technical standards and label Datkeys. After 3 years, Datkeys has distributed products to a system of 1,400 stores and agents nationwide and sold all kinds of sanitary equipment, kitchens, bathtubs completely under Vietnamese brands, competing with imported products and at equally high prices. Mr. Nguyen Thuong Dat said: Currently, Datkeys brand direct water heaters of Dat Quang Company have occupied 15% market share of direct water heaters of all kinds sold nationwide with an output of 25,000 units/year.
On May 23, 2005, Dat Quang Company launched a new product, the Datkeys indirect water heater, on the national market. This product is manufactured using Italian technology. This product is carefully designed with the colors bordeaux red, copper, turquoise, blue, silver and white. Each machine is equipped with an ELCB anti-leakage device to ensure absolute safety for customers. Each tank also has a wire cover to create a more aesthetic look for the bathroom. The company guarantees a 10-year warranty for this product, which is the longest warranty period on the market today. Dat Quang believes that from now until the end of the year, this product can sell 5,000 tanks, reaching 5% market share and total revenue of 8.5 billion VND.
The emergence of Vietnamese brands with completely new directions, very methodical and serious business methods such as Dat Quang and Cam Dat shows that we can be completely confident about the development of a class of young Vietnamese entrepreneurs in the near future.
