Think creatively in groups
Encourage creativity
Many people become people who only know how to follow their own experience and personality. Let's break that passive position and create creativity. Don't let your team be divided into creative people and passive people. To do that, you always know to welcome diversity of opinions and ideas, then steer the debate to consensus.
New ideas arise
Coming up with ideas requires a leader and some form of organization, so that the outcome of the meeting can open up a direction. All opinions should be recorded on a chart or board so everyone can see. Then, eliminate the impossible ideas and summarize the possible ideas.
Points to remember:
- This method of applying collective intelligence is sometimes called “group action thinking”.
- Criticism reduces creativity.
- Never disparage any opinion during the meeting.
- Many seemingly silly ideas can lead to valuable solutions.
- It is necessary to write all opinions on the board even if they are not necessarily unique opinions.
- Creative opinions in meetings are always higher than the opinions given by one individual.
Improve standards within the group
Thorough understanding of the project
People in groups truly "own" their tasks. They are responsible for finding the most effective methods to complete work to as high a standard as possible. Follow the project "from start to finish" to better understand your tasks, your role, the other roles of the team, how to improve operations, and thereby achieve high results.
System improvements
Make every member of the team accountable for their work so they can devise ways to improve by identifying problems, analyzing root causes, and improving the situation. When necessary, you can ask for help from outside experts, but the most important thing is to avoid the problem recurring.
There are always new methods
Maintain your ability to grow with continuous improvements to always have new methods to meet your team's activities and market needs. Challenges are always what help improve a team's performance. Try to address the symptoms and heal the disease, because the problems will recur if the root cause is not addressed. Problems and solutions are always separated, because it is important to remember that the secondary, negative consequences are worse than the initial consequences. Quality is always expensive. Remember that quality improvement makes economic sense when measured against the cost of direct or indirect failure. Don't think quality only applies to products. It still applies to each service and process within your team
