Don't underestimate "office sickness"

Office workers after a period of time often suffer from diseases such as eye strain, back pain, cervical spondylosis, carpal tunnel syndrome, dull or dry skin, abdominal obesity, etc. These “office diseases” cause a lot of inconvenience in the lives of those who suffer from them. Without proper treatment and adjustment, these seemingly harmless diseases will greatly affect health. So, what are the common diseases that office workers encounter, and how can they be prevented?

Eye strain: Working continuously with the computer will not only make your eyes tired and sore, but also dry or watery continuously. This is because the eyes have to adjust too much for a long time, leading to the above condition. Along with eye strain are dizziness, headaches and a feeling of nausea. Computer waves are harmful to the nervous system, sore eyes also cause nervous tension, along with the stuffy atmosphere of the office will make you more susceptible to stress. If you want to end the above condition, after every 60 minutes of working in front of the computer, you should rest for about 5 minutes. During that rest time, close your eyes, relax your body and imagine yourself in a place with beautiful scenery, or listen to a melodious piece of music. You should use eye drops 3 times a day to keep your eyes from drying out.

Office workers are susceptible to cervical spondylosis.

Back pain, arm pain, cervical spondylosis: Sitting too much in the wrong posture will cause the back muscles and spine to twist, leading to back pain. Typing continuously on the computer and clicking the mouse will cause pain in the joints. The neck is constantly in an immobile position, poor blood circulation will gradually lead to osteoarthritis. That is why office workers are susceptible to diseases such as carpal tunnel syndrome (aching arms), cervical spondylosis, sciatica. Useful advice for office workers is to adjust your sitting posture correctly: keep your back straight, do not sit too deep into the back of the chair. You should find yourself a soft and comfortable chair. Pay attention to the height of the desk and chair so that your hands are just above the desk. After 2 hours of working with the computer, you should stretch, turn, or do a light sport to keep the blood circulating. At the same time, regularly massage your finger joints to avoid muscle aches and cramps.

Neurological injury syndromes are things you can experience. When you tilt your head to one side to hold the phone while your hands are still working on the computer, you may have thoracic outlet syndrome. It is caused by compression of the brachial plexus due to tension in the lateral neck muscles due to incorrect head position or slumped posture. When you repeatedly extend your fingers and wrists or rotate your forearms, you will compress the radial nerve, beware of radial tunnel syndrome, which is characterized by discomfort from the elbow to the base of the thumb or weakness in the wrist.

Belly fat: Not only men, but also office women tend to have bigger bellies than normal, because they are less active, sit in the wrong position, causing more fat to accumulate in the abdomen than normal. Not to mention that lack of activity and excess calories can also lead to obesity. Therefore, if your job requires little movement, try to take advantage of every opportunity to walk and move your hands and feet. Instead of taking the elevator, take the stairs. You should meet and talk directly with colleagues instead of calling, along with exercises during breaks. If you do this regularly, you will have a perfect figure.

Skin and respiratory diseases: In an air-conditioned office environment, lacking fresh air, your skin and respiratory system will have problems. Mild cases are dehydrated, dry, and dull skin. More severe cases include acne, allergies, dry mouth, difficulty breathing, and respiratory infections. Drinking plenty of water, using moisturizers, and supplementing foods rich in vitamins A, C, E, etc. are essential for office workers. Occasionally, try to go outside to breathe fresh air to improve the above condition.
